2025, Bring It On!
How we plan to help you become a healthier, stronger, fitter human in 2025
And just that... It’s 2025.
Welcome back team and what a year we have in store for you!
For those of you that have been back to sessions in the gym already you’ll have noticed a change to our programming.
The first training block of the year is underway.
So what?! I hear you cry...
Well, quite simply we want to help you become a healthier, stronger, fitter human - and intelligently considered, progressive strength training is one off the most important elements to helping you achieve exactly that.
As you’re reading this I’m assuming you’re mildly interested in the thought processes behind how we piece together your programming so here’s a little insight into what we’ve got planned for you during this current quarter...
Back in early December 2024 the Coaching team from each of our gyms got together for what we call our ‘Roundtable’ to plan this quarters block. Each of our training blocks last 13 weeks and are split into a number of phases lasting anything between 2-6 weeks. Each phase builds on the last.
All three Coaching Teams (Bakewell, Wilmslow and Somerford) have programmed Quarter 1 (Jan, Feb, Mar) to follow what we call a linear training method.
So with that said expect the next 4-6 weeks to be high volume (reps), lower weights and more dynamic movement patterns. The idea behind this phase of the programme is to add more lean muscle to your physique and help your joints and connective tissue become more resilient and robust.
The second half of this quarters training block will see volume (reps) go down and weights go up. The idea behind this phase is to turn the foundations you built during the first half of the training block into higher levels of strength.
And then comes test week(s)… if you’ve followed the training block and you really want to test what your body is capable of, now is the time to do it, if you’d rather not though that’s fine, we still train as normal.
We’ve put hours of planning into your training so you don’t have to, all we ask is for you to show up (3+ times per week) and work hard. Don’t forget you can use the FITISM app if you want to see what you can achieve over the next 13 weeks and track your weights.
See you in the gym soon,
Matt
